Auxiliary-Captaincy is an exciting expression of training and ministry offered by The Salvation Army. Auxilary-Captains have been called by God to full-time service yet, for valid reasons, are not able to engage in training for officership via the standard residential program at The College for Officer Training. Auxiliary-Captaincy is a stepping stone to commissioned officership and requires a commitment to training over a five year period, while also engaged in full-time ministry. Cohort 3 (commenced training October 2009)
Auxiliary Captains do not have a sessional name like cadets, though they will be commissioned with a future cadet session upon completion of studies and confirmation of officership. The title cohort is used to describe various groups of Auxiliary-Captains who have begun training at various times.
