We welcome the month of May with its opportunities for prayer. This month remember families in your prayers. Here are some events in May where we may unite in prayer: May 2 – The Federal Election – Look to Jesus – maintain a Godward perspective so as not to get pulled into the political sphere where [...]
CAPTAIN ROBERT RUSSELL considers how we cultivate a deeper intimacy with God . . . “In Ruth Barton’s book, ‘Sacred Rhythms: Arranging our Lives for Spiritual Transformation’ she explains that the human soul gets to the point when it is ready for a new way to pray – one that allows for a new intimacy with [...]
MAJOR ERIC BOND shares words of wisdom as we look into the past as well as to the future . . . “January is a month of new beginnings. It is a time for New Year’s Resolutions. It is a time of fresh starts and of new hopes for the coming year. However, very often the hope is [...]
CADET JENNIFER IVANY reflects on how the Lord speaks: in Scripture, and to us today…. When you look at these paintings in front of you, what do you see? At a quick glance, as you would an inkblot test, what do you see? Hold on to that ‘quick’ analysis of the picture you chose [...]

I have a huge purse that my husband calls a bowling bag. I’ve taken to calling it my “tickle trunk”, as a tribute to the show “Mr. Dress-Up”, that I used to watch as a child. While it is wonderfully useful and versatile, it can become a bottomless pit containing seemingly everything but the kitchen [...]
Key Bible Verses: Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village. Calling the Twelve to him, he sent them out two by two. (Mark 6:6-7) A good rule of thumb in the game of chess is, whenever possible connect your rooks by putting them on the same line without the obstruction of other pieces. [...]
Key Bible Verses: He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is [...]
Key Bible Verses: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28: 19-20) [...]

he who made the earth,
the Lord who formed it and established it -
the Lord is his name:
Call to me and I will answer you
and tell you great and unsearchable things
you do not know.”
Living Scripture - Psalm 111:10
The fear of the Lord
is the beginning of wisdom;

To him belongs eternal praise.

Living Scripture - 2 Chronicles 1:11-12
God said to Solomon,

nor for the death of your enemies,
and since you have not asked for a long life
but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people
over whom I have made you king,
therefore wisdom and knowledge shall be given you.
And I will also give you
wealth, riches and honor,
such as no king who was before you ever had
and none after you will have.”

the glory due his name;

the glory due his name;

Worship the LORD
in the splendour of his holiness.”
Living Scripture - Revelation 4:9-11

They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”

If you are not disciplined
(and everyone undergoes discipline),
then you are illegitimate children
and not true sons.
Moreover, we have all had human fathers
who disciplined us
and we respected them for it.
How much more should we submit
to the Father of our spirits and live!
This Easter CFOT Cadets and Officers had the privilege of participating in a variety of Easter activities and services at Corps in Alberta.
Small goups of Cadets/Officers participated in all aspects of the Easter Services and were also able to spend some valuable time with youth groups. In Calgary tradition, some of our CFOT folks were “white hatted” (see photos below). A wonderful time of worship, outreach and fellowship was had by all.
A big thank you to the Alberta Divsion for hosting us! You have been so gracious to us in sharing your ministries, your homes and your hearts with us…
