Grande Prairie | Who is my neighbour?

As I am sitting in my office here at Community & Family Services, I am attempting to write a sermon for church this Sunday. Dave and I decided to do a sermon series on the Parables, so this week is my turn to preach on the Good Samaritan. If you know me at all, I [...]

Saskatoon | Serving in Community

It is hard to believe that the summer is drawing to a close and that my time in Saskatoon is almost over but God has richly blessed me as I have encountered Him in every aspect of the ministry He had planned for me even before I arrived here in the center of Saskatchewan. One [...]

Poll | Recycled Sermons

Recycling is great for the environment, but after week seven of the Jude Sermon series John began to have a sneaking suspicion the officer might be reusing his sermons from weeks 1 and 2.  SO, we’re asking…How do you feel about preachers reusing sermons?  Should they be giving fresh bread to the people?  Thoughts?

Friday nights are Jr. Youth Group and it has been a lot of fun. The last event was Water Wars. It has been so hot here the last few weeks we thought why not stay cool by getting everyone wet. It was a blast! The kids brought their water guns and we provided the water [...]

SK Circuit | Turbo the Astronaut

The summer might be nearly finished, but I know God still has plenty in store for me. As I think back over my summer appointment in Saskatchewan’s North East Circuit, I am truly thankful for all that God has allowed me to be a part of in the communities of Melfort, Tisdale and Nipawin. My [...]

Dawson Creek | The Best Place on Earth

When you enter into the province of British Columbia this is the sign that you are greeted with. Since being here for four weeks already this sign has brought with it much truth and we are realizing that more and more each day, because this is the best place on earth.  My heart has been [...]

Squirrelizer

He keeps popping up in the most unusual places.  We’re talking about the Banff ground squirrel who invaded a picture of a couple visiting Banff.  When the picture won an award it went viral i.e. passed over the internet and email etc. with millions of hits.  Well we found mr. squirrel in our photo library.  [...]

Chatham | Roles Collide

I faced a new dilemma the other day. For the first time since entering training college, I witnessed the challenges that come with pastoring and employing the same person. The pastor role is to take spiritual care of its flock, journeying alongside people. An employer works with oversees someone’s job performance. Often in The Salvation [...]

CFOT HIGHLIGHTS
  • Scripture for Praying & Living

    May 18, 2012

     Praying Scripture – 1 Chronicles 16:29

    “Ascribe to the LORD
    the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come before him.
    Worship the LORD
in the splendour of his holiness.”

    Living Scripture - Hebrews 12:8-9

    If you are not disciplined
    (and everyone undergoes discipline),
    then you are illegitimate children
    and not true sons.
Moreover, we have all had human fathers
    who disciplined us
and we respected them for it.
How much more should we submit
to the Father of our spirits and live!

    Living Scripture - Daniel 6:10

    Now when Daniel learned
that the decree had been published,
he went home to his upstairs room
where the windows opened toward Jerusalem.
Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed,
    giving thanks to his God,
just as he had done before.

  • EASTER SPECIALING 2012

This Easter CFOT Cadets and Officers had the privilege of participating in a variety of Easter activities and services at Corps in Alberta.

Small goups of Cadets/Officers participated in all aspects of the Easter Services and were also able to spend some valuable time with youth groups.  In Calgary tradition, some of our CFOT folks were “white hatted” (see photos below).  A wonderful time of worship, outreach and fellowship was had by all.

A big thank you to the Alberta Divsion for hosting us!  You have been so gracious to us in sharing your ministries, your homes and your hearts with us…
