Medium double double to go
CFOT is on the road to exotic destinations and far off places. Okay, we’re actually taking a roadtrip as far away as Regina to the West and Fargo, ND to the South.

CFOT featured a beginner band of cadets during Monday’s warranting of Auxillary Captains, and it seems the average age of our beginners band is a little older than usual. Earlier this year the cadets approached Don Timmerman, songster leader from the Winnipeg East Corps, and asked if he would teach a group of cadets how to play brass instruments.

Major Jean Moulton visited CFOT this week and had the distinct privilige of warranting the Territory’s 5 Cadet Lieutenants as Auxiliary Captains. She reminded them to be Shepherds of the flocks God placed in their care (1 Peter 5), and to grow with the distinctive marks of those whom God had called (2 Peter 1).

Commissioner Wm. Francis had an opportunity to share God’s Word in the CFOT chapel, reminding us “The Lord is Faithful to all His promises”. We were joined by friends from DHQ as the Commissioner opens up Psalm 145, and explains the significance of the missing letter.

As per Salvation Army regulations, May 1st marked the change to summer dress. Someone obviously forgot to notify the weather of this, as cadets awoke this past Sunday to a Winnipeg that was blanketed in white. Ever the realist, Rob Jeffery chose to give up the option of going “sans” tunic, and it was winter garb as usual.

The CFOT community took advantage of a free Saturday to check out the Narcisse Snake Dens, about 1.5 hours outside of Winnipeg. While Joshua shows us how to handle one snake, it’s a whole different ballgame when there are more than 1,000 snakes.

In Organizational Leadership class, cadets were given the assignment of designing a resource on leadership in The Salvation Army. Among the many great assignments submitted, is this leadership study by Cadets Alison and Peter Lublink entitled, “On Leadership”.

Praying Scripture – Micah 6:8-10
He has shown you,
O mortal, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
Living Scripture - Psalm 25:3
No one who hopes in you
will ever be put to shame.

CFOT was pleased to welcome special guests Colonels Floyd and Tracey Tidd to our In Sunday on January 22, 2012.
The focus of their message was “Hope” and cadets and officers shared stories of life situations that may have seemed hopeless but which eventually brought them to know hope.
This In Sunday was also blessed by the attendance of our Field Based Training cadets – Peck-Ee Wong and Leonard Heng, and Kim and Darryl Burry (and their family).
