It was my privilege in mid-March to attend Innovare II, which was the second of two conferences designed to gather youth leaders and innovators from across the territory to share and develop visions for youth ministry. At this most recent session our team was given the challenge to develop a manifesto for youth ministry across the territory.
Under the leadership of Cadet Rebecca Pretty, and the support of the CFOT brass band, over 60 kids and staff from the YMCA daycare enjoyed an afternoon program of singing, music, and dance. It was a natural combination as many of the cadets’ children attend the Y’s daycare program
CFOT is undergoing changes itself, and is pleased to announce the following changes to Officer Staff:
CFOT had a hoot singing this song for which Rob wrote the lyrics. It was the “pre-appointment guess where the GFW’s are going to” song. You can access this podcast at iTunes and download it to your favourite media player or listen here by clicking on the slider bar below.
CFOT.ca is pleased to announce Summer Assignments for the Witnesses for Christ session. Thank you to all DHQ’s for their assistance in recommending training Corps and a huge thank you to the officers who are partnering with CFOT in officer training. Click Read More for the BIG announcement.
Cadets from the God’s Fellow Workers session received their marching orders this morning and they are anxiously and excitedly anticipating entrance into full-time ministry as Salvation Army Officers. God bless the GFW’s. Scroll down and see the communities who will soon welcome them.
The Salvation Army recently announced the opening of a College for Officer Training in Malawi. Pictured above is Mj. Sandra Rice presenting an LCD projector to Lt.Col. Wayne Pritchett for the new Malawi CFOT. CFOT Winnipeg counts it a blessing and a privilege to share with the training college in Malawi.
Once a month CFOT hosts a Dress Down Friday, but not everyone in the community checks their daytimer before leaving the house in the morning. One forgetful Captain pictured here improvised with the help of our costume cupboard. The efforts of the CFOT community have helped raise over $6200 to date for Partners in Mission.
The suggestions have all been submitted, and we want to thank everyone for taking the time to surf our wave. In the last year we have logged over 110,000 hits thanks to all of you. Keep surfing our wave as we bring you exciting news from CFOT.
Stopping only to digest a handful of trail mix, cadets dutifully study for their upcoming Old Testament Prophets exam. Such study parties are frequent at CFOT these days as we end our regular classes and prepare for exams. Studying is a way of life both at CFOT and in the field, as officers dedicate their lives to the study of God’s word.
