I am from St Albert, Alberta, but I’m now living in Winnipeg with my family as we beginning our training as Salvation Army Officers at CFOT. I have been married to my wonderful husband for seven years and we have two amazing children Kurtis and Kassandra, and they have been the greatest gifts I have ever been given.
As I turn 30 in my first year of training college, I find myself amazed and excited of where God has brought me to where I am today. I grew up in Belleville where we attended The Salvation Army since I was two years old. As I grew, God gave me a sense of comfort and a love for the work of The Salvation Army in Canada and around the world.
I was born and grew up in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and am blessed to have be born to wonderful Christian parents, Edith and Clyde Downton. I am the older sister to one younger brother, Daniel who is married to Kim. They have given me the best nephew, a beautiful one-year-old, Caleb.
Did you know each general names the next five sessions of cadets? Were you aware every session of cadets shares their session’s name with cadets from all over the world? Here are the upcoming sessions of cadets:
I am a 25 year old wife and mother of one, and I have just begun a new, exciting and challenging chapter in life as I enter training to be a Salvation Army Officer. Looking back to the beginning I see how God has prepared me for this experience and placed special people in my path for encouragement.
