My name is Deanna Scott I was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta. It was a privileged to be able to spend my teenage years in Africa with my parents who are Salvation Army Officers, spending three years in Zimbabwe and four years in South Africa.
Reverand Dr. Karen Hamilton, the General Director for the Canadian Council of Churches was a recent guest at the CFOT chapel, and she brought us a reflection on her recent visit to New York City where she met with church leaders including Commissioner Christine MacMillan and the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta, I have spent my entire life there. That is until now. I spent the last 11 years working in the Oil Patch of Northern Alberta and BC, and prior to that I worked as a Firefighter, Teacher’s Aide, Criminal Justice Educator, Farmer and Student.
Rebecca’s story begins in Dildo Newfoundland, the daughter of Donna and Theodore Pretty. In Rebecca’s words…my parents were very encouraging and as a child they encouraged me to participate in numerous church, school, and music activities, and so from a young age I developed a huge interest in music, especially piano and voice.

This marvelous story began January 21st, 1996, our wedding day at the Sherbrooke Salvation Army Corps. Three months later we became soldiers engaged in the service of Jesus Christ in our corps and our community. Three beautiful boys were born to us and dedicated before God and our corps.
