Steppin’ out in prayer

You can tell a lot about a community by watching. Looking at the neighbourhood stores, how resident’s tend their homes, what kinds of cars are parked on the street… it’s a bit like being a detective. And that is what faculty and staff from CFOT are doing every week in a Winnipeg community where The Salvation Army’s Multicultural Family Centre is located.

Partnerships & affiliations: Booth College

Since as early as 1989 Colleges for Officer Training in the Canada and Bermuda Territory have had a unique partnership with the William and Catherine Booth College.The initial relationship, forged in 1989, allows for all officers who have completed their training at CFOT to be given 35 credits towards an undergraduate degree in Bible and Theology, should they choose to enter the program.

Our home: CFOT photo feature

Just two years ago the new CFOT in Winnipeg was a mess - stone chips and drywall dust, wood slivers and nails. Renovations on our 90-year-old building were well underway but the results were - and are - spectacular. For those of you who haven’t yet had the opportunity to visit us, we’ve put together a collection of pictures that showcase our home.

The General speaks

It was the first time in over 20 years that a sitting General visited Winnipeg, and CFOT is thrilled to offer you his address to cadets, officers and those who proclaim the gospel. In what proved to be a stirring message on this notable visit, General Shaw Clifton offered two words of inspiration to his congregation at the CFOT chapel, “Vision and Verdict”.

General Shaw Clifton and Commissioner Helen Clifton visit CFOT

General Shaw Clifton and Commissioner Helen Clifton visited CFOT on Friday and spoke with staff and the cadets with a challenge to “Vision and Verdict”. The General’s words were well received, and he and Commissioner Clifton’s visit was truly a highlight for all involved.
