Prayer is
Listening to the Holy Spirit

Give our attention to the Holy Spirit.

Who is it tells me what to do
And helps me to obey?
Who is it plans the route for me
And will not let me stray?
Who is it tells me when to speak
And what I ought to say?

Who is it gives me heavy loads
And helps me to take the strain?
Who is it calls to sacrifice
And helps me bear the pain?
Who is it sees me when I fall
And lifts me up again?

Who is it shows me what to be
And leads me to that goal?
Who is it claims the heart of me
And wants to take control?
Who is it call to holiness
Of body, mind and soul?

That’s the Spirit! Holy Spirit!
That’s the Spirit of the Lord in me!

For many of our faculty, the weeks of spring and summer provide an opportunity to focus their energies on research. Our faculty members are engaged in many different kinds of research from writing books, to penning specialized research for presentations at seminars and meetings of their peers, to extensive reading in preparation for teaching new courses. All of these activities require great clarity of thought and discipline. Pray that God will provide our faculty members with the focus and energy to move forward their contributions through research.

Praying Scripture – 1 Chronicles 16:29

“Ascribe to the LORD
the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come before him.
Worship the LORD
in the splendour of his holiness.”

Living Scripture - Hebrews 12:8-9

If you are not disciplined
(and everyone undergoes discipline),
then you are illegitimate children
and not true sons.
Moreover, we have all had human fathers
who disciplined us
and we respected them for it.
How much more should we submit
to the Father of our spirits and live!

Now when Daniel learned
