SUMMER ASSIGNMENT | CADET KIM CHAN
Fri, Aug 19, 2011
- What lessons will I be able to take from this field placement to my future ministry?
- What has working in this field placement taught me about myself?
- How has my work in this ministry impacted my relationship with God?
- What has this field placement taught/shown me about other people?
I have been truly blessed since arriving at Meadowlands and I believe that each and every lesson that I have learned here will be valuable in my future ministry. My approach to this, and all other ministry opportunities, is to seek to learn as much as I can so that I will have a store of experiences to draw from and apply to my future ministry.
This summer assignment has affirmed in me that I do not have to do everything on my own. The key to being successful in ministry is to align yourself with people who complement your abilities. I have such great support here at Meadowlands and it is evident that we are all working towards the same goal; to win souls, grow saints, and serve suffering humanity.
Once again I have been reminded of my total dependence on God and that without Him I can do nothing. I have been greatly blessed many times over the past four weeks and I know that God is working here at Meadowlands. In addition to His working at the Corps, He is working in and through my willingness to be used for His honour and His glory. This field placement has shown me that everyone has a part to play in ministry. To do ministry well, people need to be working together to accomplish great things for the Kingdom of God.
I am very thankful for the opportunities of ministry that I have been given so far in my summer assignment and I am looking forward to the remainder of my assignment here at Meadowlands.
Cadet Kim Chan is also a part of the Friends of Christ session. We hear she hasn’t had a single M & M all summer! We’ll be stocking up for the fall session.
