brantford | Jesus to the Rescue

The Salvation Army Wyndfield Community Church of Brantford, ON has been in a new building for just about one year. They moved from the deserted downtown to a brand new sub division just 10 minutes away. The move to the new building brought many new faces into the church, and the church and its congregants greeted them with a warm, friendly smile. They spread the love of Christ into the community by way of the Food Bank, Family Services, and VBS, and I was blessed to be the Bible teacher for the two week VBS – Jesus to the Rescue.
I had the opportunity to teach children from the community about real Bible heroes like Gideon, Elijah and Jesus. Fifty children have come out to the Army to sing, dance, and get excited about Christ. It has been a real joy to teach these children, pray with them, and increase their knowledge of God. They are so smart and eager to learn; they have memorized daily Bible verses, can recall the Bible heroes we have discussed and even talk about how it applies to their lives.
On our last day we had a BBQ and all parents were invited. It is my prayer that God will use this VBS to reach even more people from the community and draw them into fellowship with the Salvation Army of Brantford, ON.
