Ministry

We have a variety of congregations here at Weetamah. There is the Sunday Morning congregation, the Wednesday morning congregation, and the Friday night congregation. Each of these groups is distinct and represents a different part of the community and represents a different role for those of us who are involved at these different times.

As I see the people working with and for one another I get a real sense of gratefulness and thanks that they are there for each other. We as staff can spend time talking to them and listening, and this is important as it is a part of the relationship building, but the time that they get to spend talking and laughing and in deep conversation with each other is a blessing all itself.

Last Friday night we had about 150 come to our Urban Cafe BBQ. They came alone and in pairs but as they came and mingled in the line up and helped each other with getting seats and drinks you really see a bond beginning that leads to relationship building and strengthening ties within the community around Weetamah.

The ownership that is taken by the people of Weetamah over the events that happen here is great to see and really gets us involved with the people as opposed to involved with the program. Several come in frequently to volunteer during the week. Several help with set up and clean up every week and the graciousness with which everyone is treated really speaks to the community acceptance of all. The people truly do care for one another and are willing to look past the outer layer to speak to the person within. With God’s help and guidance we are able to look at everyone through His eyes.

    Scriptures for Praying & Living

    February 6, 2012

    Praying Scripture – Leviticus 20:8

Keep my decrees and follow them.
I am the LORD, who makes you holy.

    Living Scripture -  Psalm 24:3

Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD?
Who may stand in his holy place?
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.

  • In Sunday January 22 2012

CFOT was pleased to welcome special guests Colonels Floyd and Tracey Tidd to our In Sunday on January 22, 2012.
The focus of their message was “Hope” and cadets and officers shared stories of life situations that may have seemed hopeless but which eventually brought them to know hope.

This In Sunday was also blessed by the attendance of our Field Based Training cadets – Peck-Ee Wong and Leonard Heng, and  Kim and Darryl Burry (and their family).
