General Shaw Clifton and Commissioner Helen Clifton visit CFOT
Tue, May 1, 2007
General Shaw Clifton and Commissioner Helen Clifton visited CFOT on Friday and spoke with staff and the cadets with a challenge to “Vision and Verdict”. The General’s words were well received, and he and Commissioner Clifton’s visit was truly a highlight for all involved.
They were in Winnipeg as guests for William and Catherine Booth College’s 25th anniversary celebrations this past weekend. Following their address to cadets all shared in a time of fellowship and refreshment where the General took time to chat with cadets and to sign autographs. At one point over the weekend the General kidded with guests in regards to all of the photograph and autograph requests, “It feels like our wedding day.”
Major Brian Slous shares his book of signatures, including William and Catherine Booth’s, aided by Major Richard Gaudion. The General and Commissioner added their signatures to this piece of Salvation Army history. It is always exciting to have visitors come to CFOT, but cadets and officers will agree this was a significant day which they will remember with fondness. God Bless our leaders. God bless The Salvation Army.
