SUMMER ASSIGNMENT UPDATE | SEAL COVE FORTUNE BAY

Ministry

jaclyn-wynne2When I am at the quarters, I get up quite often to look out the living room window.  Acro ss the street is the Corps building and the ocean.  I’ve never seen the ocean before coming to Newfoundland.  I am in awe – I have never seen anything like it!  Each time I look at it I am amazed at the goodness of God, at the awesomeness of God.  The songs in the songbook suddenly make sense to me…         O ocean of mercy oft longing I’ve stood.  On the brink of thy wonderful LIFE GIVING flood.’

I’ll never be able to sing the founders song frivolously again.  Those words now mean more to me, after seeing the vastness of the ocean.  God is good!

When I was appointed to Seal Cove Fortune Bay for my summer assignment, I immediately began to hear from people.  Everyone told me how blessed I would be to come to this community.  Seal Cove has a reputation for legendary hospitality.  The folks here have proven that reputation true in the week that I have been here.  I have been welcomed with open arms, and I feel like I am part of such a loving family already.  I have experienced handshakes, hugs, and lunch.

seal-cove-1mediumGod is at work in this community and this community is full of people who love him and want to serve him.  You can hear this in their singing on Sunday.  Never before have I experienced such passion in worship, such deep devotion to prayer, so many people rising during the testimony time to share what God has done in their lives and how thankful they are for his love and salvation.

I love it here in Seal Cove Fortune Bay, I am so glad that God appointed me here.  I look forward to a summer of blessings, and seeing the work of the Lord carried out.

    Jaclyn,

We love the ocean and when you grow up with it you always miss it. May your entire summer be overflowing with blessing and may you be used by God to bring blessing to others.

    Praying Scripture – Leviticus 20:8

Keep my decrees and follow them.
I am the LORD, who makes you holy.

    Living Scripture -  Psalm 24:3

Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD?
Who may stand in his holy place?
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.

  • In Sunday January 22 2012

CFOT was pleased to welcome special guests Colonels Floyd and Tracey Tidd to our In Sunday on January 22, 2012.
The focus of their message was “Hope” and cadets and officers shared stories of life situations that may have seemed hopeless but which eventually brought them to know hope.

This In Sunday was also blessed by the attendance of our Field Based Training cadets – Peck-Ee Wong and Leonard Heng, and  Kim and Darryl Burry (and their family).
