Meet Auxiliary Captain Tina Yoo who, along with her husband Thomas Yoo, is appointed to Ottawa Citadel – Intercultural Community Ministries.
I grew up in a non-Christian family in Seoul, South Korea and immigrated to Canada in 1986. By the grace of God, I was hired as a Family Services Coordinator at the Korean Corps where Captain Lee, Corps Officer witnessed Jesus Christ to me. From 1995 to 2003, I worked as a secretary at the Corps Ministries Department at THQ. I am grateful and blessed to have been working there for those 9 years. I met many wonderful Christians who have truly inspired and encouraged me to serve the Lord.
In 2006, my husband and I were involved in Intercultural Ministries and English Conversation Classes. Through these ministries, I grew passionate to reach out to new immigrants and non believers who do not know Jesus Christ. It was the beginning of my realization that I and my husband were being called to full time ministry in the Salvation Army.
Last July, my husband Thomas and I were appointed as Auxiliary Captains in Ottawa. Since coming to Ottawa I have been constantly experiencing God’s great love and fulfillment. I truly believe God will equip me and use me for His kingdom and territory. God is so great.
Matthew 17:20 says, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain. ‘Move from here to there” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
