Portage La Prairie | Women’s Ministry
Fri, Nov 6, 2009
Portage La Prairie recently held a breakfast for the women in the community, and what a tremendous blessing it was with twenty ladies attending. As well, three men from the mens group cooked for the event. Cadet Graciela Arkell, the leader of the group and Portage La Prairie Corps writes,
“It was good! Our guest speaker was Janelle Botterill, a dietician from the Regional Health Authority. Janelle’s presentation was “Cooking Healthy for One or Two” and the ladies participated and enjoyed the presentation. To our surprise, the men agreed to babysit the 6 children who attended the breakfast with their mothers, so that we could enjoy the presentation.”
The women’s ministry is taking on a wonderful life of its own under Graciela’s leadership and she has included a few pictures for you to see the joy on the faces of the ladies attending. Graciela and her husband Jeff are cadets in the Prayer Warriors session, and as part of their training are the leaders at the Portage La Prairie Corps. They are making a tremendous impact on the Corps as well as the wider community. Their infectious spirit, and welcoming personalities are a wonderful addition to the ministry in Portage.
