In pursuit of a better life my father and two friends arrived in Canada in 1971. After the Coup in 1973 the rest of the family decided to leave Chile and join my father. Not yet a teenager, the adjustment was extremely difficult and one that I would struggle with for many years. The life of a teenager is difficult but even much more so for one with two different cultures. I felt I had no identity.
As an adult I knew that there was a void in my life and I made different attempts to fill it with material things, none of which worked. When I met my wife Phyllis, who had Army background, I began to ask questions about the Army and Jesus.

In October 1995 Phyllis felt the need to go back to church and I decided to accompany her. She chose Westminster Park, London, ON and for three months the Holy Spirit worked in me until I finally gave my life to Christ. Jesus Christ filled that void as I found my identity in Him. Within a few months I felt God’s call to ministry in the Salvation Army.
We began our journey in full-time ministry in 2001 and are currently appointed to Yorkton, SK.
Felipe and Phylis will be ordained and commissioned with the Witnesses for Christ session in June of this year.

You are in our prayers as you prepare your hearts for full time ministry, You have been doing if for some time now, and God has used you in so many ways and I know He will continue. I am blessed to know you and consider you as my friends. May God use you in a mighty way,

Felipe,
I’m so glad you chose to follow Christ and answer God’s call to ministry. You are a blessing and inspiration to many and you have helped me so much in my spiritual journey. I’m very proud of both you and Phyllis as you will be commissioned in June. Love you lots!
