It is hard to believe that I have been on the Sunshine Coast for 3 weeks already. The time has been just flying by and God has been giving me opportunities to learn different areas of ministry that I have not previously had opportunity to experience.
One particular experience that I have had recently was to be a part of a team to go to the site of a forest fire. The ministry in Gibsons has an Emergency Response vehicle. We took that vehicle to the forest fire where we served the workers sandwiches, fruit, water and juice. It may not seem like much but to see the relief on the faces of those men in need of a drink or something to eat was amazing. God used us in those few hours to minister to those workers. Whether it was just a sandwich, or if it was a conversation or if it was just a smile it was all part of God’s love.
God is at work in so many places here on the Coast. Besides the Emergency Services I just mentioned, Family Services is very big here and there are many people who come through the doors in need and it is only by God’s grace and provision that we are able to help them.
When I think about the future and the ministry that God has in store for me I can’t say there are specific fears but there are always doubts as to whether I am equipped to handle ministry but I trust that God knows the plans he has for me and He will equip.
