Hello! My name is Lorri-Anne Butler and I am a 1 st year Cadet at CFOT Winnipeg. Through the business of the last few months since arriving, I still have a hard time believing I am actually here. Despite having to adjust to Winnipeg’s winter, I have found myself enjoying every new experience. I love living in community and have found myself learning much from the new family of friends I have around me.
I am an avid reader who enjoys books by Ravi Zacharias, John MacArthur and John Stott as well as many others, however, I do enjoy a good novel when I get the chance! My hobbies include cooking, baking, quilting and almost anything outdoors. Last summer I acquired a taste for Kayaking that I look forward to indulging more often.
Over the years, God has taught me so many things, but two that have
impacted me most since being here are His Sovereignty and how when choosing to live a life of faith one is choosing the greatest adventure of their life! I do not always understand why God chooses to do the things he does, and sometimes I don’t understand why He asks for the things He does, but what I do know is this, never once has He failed me and my trust is always placed best when it is placed in His loving and merciful hands.
One of my favorite Psalms is Psalm 34, I would like to share verses 1 & 3, “I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips…Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.” I am truly looking forward to seeing what the next few months will bring!
