regina | amazed by God’s work

Rebecca Pretty writes from her summer assignment in Regina: ” I must decrease so that Christ can increase.” For the past few days I have been thinking about this and yesterday, God allowed me to see it with my own eyes as I sat in the office here in Regina preparing for VBS.
As myself and the officer sat on the floor making talking sticks for the VBS for 42 kids, a woman came into the office feeling a little overwhelmed with life, dealing with situations I could not speak into. I wanted to say so much but really all the woman needed was a listening ear. She needed Jesus. As we allowed her to speak, I needed to decrease so that Christ could increase. I needed to put aside myself and let God speak. Thankfully, she knows that she has a place to come to chat, a place where God can work and hopefully, one day that she will call home.
God is working mightily here and it amazes me to see what He is doing in the lives of so many wonderful people here in Regina.
