grand falls-windsor | baby dedication

Grand Falls – Windsor is full of opportunities for ministry. Last week I had the privilege to perform a baby dedication at Grand Falls Citadel. It was something that I had never done before, and there was some hesitation on my part as to how to conduct the dedication ceremony. We had an interview with the couple and his mother to determine the particulars of the ceremony. Neither of the parents are connected to any church, and at first glanced seemed the dedication was a good idea to the little boy’s grandma and great-grandma.
They listened intently to both ceremonies and without much hesitation decided to choose the ceremony which had them promise to raise their son with the truths of the Gospel and encourage Christ as Saviour. I was reminded that God works in situations in ways we may not expect. These folks were making their promises to God, not me; it is between them and God.
God reminded me of the need to extend grace in all situations. I can only pray that as I approach ministry that I can continue to show grace and love as Jesus would want from me. I hope that will be able to further the Kingdom with his help.
